Text Message Scam Warning Issued

The Rhode Island Attorney General's office has issued a warning about a text message scam.  People have reported getting messages offering one-thousand-dollar gift cards to retailers such as Target and Walmart and the link in the message goes to a website asking for personal information including social security numbers, bank account numbers, credit card information and birth dates.  The AG's office advises anyone who receives these unsolicited text messages, do not reply and do not click on links in the message.
