Teen Dies After Model Helicopter Slices His Head

The worst imaginable nightmare came true for Roman Pirozek Sr. of Queens, NY, who witnessed his 19 year old son, Roman Jr., die in front of him as a result of a tragic model helicopter accident.

The young man was flying his remote control helicopter in a Brooklyn park when he lost control of it, causing the craft to boomerang and strike his head, where the blades sliced the top of his skull completely off.

Both father and son are well known flyers recognized for mastering tricks with model helicopters. This is the first recorded death as a result of a remote controlled model helicopter.
