Thousands of people are flocking to New Bedford Harbor this weekend to enjoy the annual Working Waterfront Festival.

Calling ship-to-shore about the free 2014 Working Waterfront Festival that will be filled with contests, delicious local seafood prepared in front of you, live music, vessel and harbor tours plus children's activities, whaleboat races, maritime artisans and poetry on Saturday, Sept. 27 and Sunday, Sept.28 on New Bedford's historic waterfront.

Part of this weekend's Working Waterfront Festival will include free tours of fishing vessels. There are so many different types of boats that are each designed to bring in specific types of marine life. This festival this weekend is a great opportunity for the whole family to learn more and appreciate our New Bedford working waterfront.

We're pretty spoiled here on the Southcoast, particularly the greater New Bedford area. We live in a place where the seafood is always fresh and the selection of North Atlantic fisheries beats any other world-wide.
