Third Case Of EEE Reported In Mass.
A third Massachusetts resident has been diagnosed with a case of Eastern equine encephalitis. State health officials said the patient is female, under the age of 18 and currently hospitalized. She was diagnosed in early September. Based on the latest report, the EEE threat level has been raised in several towns in Franklin and Worcester counties.

The discovery of a Triple E infected mosquito caught in a trap at the New Bedford Business Park has prompted state health officials to raise the Triple E threat level to "high" in New Bedford. The results will prompt another round of ground spraying in the city's North End. The Bristol County Mosquito Control Program and Mayor Jon Mitchell have worked out the schedule.
