Mitchell, Coakley Urge Federal Court To Approve AVX Settlement

Mayor Jon Mitchell is joining the Attorney General and AVX Corporation in asking a Federal Court to approve a $366 million settlement with AVX to remove pcb's from New Bedford Harbor. 

The funding, if approved, would enable the cleanup to be finished within five to seven years, compared to 40 years without it
