Fall River Residents Target of Sweepstakes Scam

Fall River Police are warning residents of a scam making it's way throughout the city via "snail mail".

According to Detective J.D. Costa, some Fall River residents have reported receiving letters stating they are the winners of a cash prize, and have received a partial check to cover "non-resident taxes"

Dartmouth Phone and Mail Scam Alert

Dartmouth Police are investigating a phone and mail scam that has re-surfaced in town. It mainly targets the elderly who receive a phone call or a letter, saying they've won a large amount of money but in order to collect their winnings, they must forward money of their own, usually between 50 to 250 dollars, to the caller via money order or prepaid paypal cards.

Postal Service Says Saturday Mail Delivery Will Continue

Despite reports earlier this year that stated that due to budget cuts, the United States Post Office would be cutting their Saturday delivery service, that decision has been overturned by Congress.
