Health Officials Fear Heroin Resurgence

 

The weekend death of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman from an apparent heroin overdose is focusing renewed attention on a dangerous drug that seems to be making a resurgence.
 
    The most recent numbers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention find that the number of recorded heroin overdose deaths nearly doubled in the decade between 2000 and 2010.

Authorities Arrest Two In Jail Drug-Smuggling Scheme

 

Investigators with the Bristol County Sheriff's Special Investigations Unit have uncovered a scheme to smuggle drugs into the House of Correction in Dartmouth.

Sheriff's Dept. Spokesman Bernard Sullivan tells WBSM News, investigators have charged  31 year old Edward Teves of Fall River, and his girlfriend, 22 year old Tonya Desrosiers, who is an inmate at the House of Correction.

Three Face Drug, Fugitive Charges In Brockton

A joint operation by Brockton and Mass. State Police result in the arrest of three men from Maine, charged with drug violations and fugitive charges.

Mother And Daughter Arrested On Multiple Charges

 

 

Fairhaven Police have arrested a mother and daughter on multiple charges including larceny and drug charges. 53 year old Rhonda Stone and 23 year old Devyn Stone were arrested on larceny of a motor vehicle, receiving property valued at over $250, and drug charges.
