Congressman Joe Kennedy III’s senate campaign team has agreed to a primary debate on climate change and proposed a series of regional debates across the state.
Kennedy announced the endorsements of three Massachusetts labor unions: IBEW Local 103, Teamsters Local 25 and the Massachusetts State Council of Machinists.
Kennedy has been weighing a Senate run for weeks and multiple media outlets reported late Wednesday that he'll formally announce it Saturday in East Boston.
Members want Kennedy to run because he comes from a line of senators, because he supports gay rights as well as action on climate change and gun violence.
On Monday, Kennedy is returning to the colleagues to visit border facilities in El Paso and Clint, Texas and receive an update on humanitarian conditions.
Leaders in renewable energy and a collection of local and federal politicians gathered on Friday to discuss future operations at Somerset's Brayton Point.
