New Bedford Mayor Appoints Special Counsel to AVX Settlement

A familiar name in the world of law has been named Special Counsel as the City prepares to implement a $366-million settlement between AVX and the EPA.

Mayor Jon Mitchell has appointed former attorney David Waxler, who will help develop policy, review regulations, and evaluate legal documents related to the remediation efforts in the New Bedford Harbor
