A special prosecutor will investigate the actions of Fall River Mayor William Flanagan after allegations of intimidation were made by a city councilor.

District Attorney Sam Sutter says due to conflicts of interest, former state and federal prosecutor William Connelly will look into the claims made by Councilor Jasiel Correia II that Mayor Flanagan used a gun as a tool of intimidation during a late night meeting in August.

Correia says he's witholding any further comments until the investigation is completed.

Sutter says he has conflicts of interest being a former employer to Flanagan, and coaching Correia during Sutter's free tennis clinics, and sustaining infrequent contact afterward.
