Two Wareham men have been charged with a shooting late Monday night in East Wareham.

According to interim police Chief Kevin Walsh, 24 year old Alberto Velasquez was shot with birdseed pellets in the stomach and leg during an argument outside 50 Mayflower Lane. He was transported to Tobey Hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

Following an investigation, Police charged 25 year old Jonathan Depina of Wareham with two counts of assault with intent to murder and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling. Also arrested was 22 year old Jordan Pimental, who was charged with accessory after the fact.

Both suspects live at 50 Mayflower Lane. Wareham and State Police searched the residence but the weapon believed used in the shooting, a shotgun, was not located. Both men are scheduled for arraignment in Wareham District Court.
