FALL RIVER — Police have identified a suspect in a shooting near the Fall River Justice Center last month.

On January 22 at approximately 1 p.m., Fall River Police responded to reports of a shooting on South Main Street. The suspect fled the area immediately after the shooting. No injuries were reported.

As a result of an investigation into the shooting, members of the Fall River Police Department Major Crimes and Special Operations Division have identified a suspect in the shooting by piecing together security camera footage and witness statements.

Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Rodney Z. Jette, 18, of 571 Plymouth Avenue, Fall River. Jette is wanted on charges of carry/possession of non-large capacity firearm without a license to carry, carrying a firearm without a license in public, attempt to commit assault and battery by discharging a firearm, vandalizing property (three counts), and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.

Jette is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees Jette or has information as to his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
