Suspect Shows Gun in Attempted Robbery of New Bedford Gas Station

NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery in the North End early Thursday morning.

Police were called to the Gas Express gas station and convenience store at 52 Tarkiln Hill Road at 3 a.m. Thursday after receiving a report that someone had tried to rob the store.

Police say the suspect showed a firearm and demanded money, but fled the store without taking anything.

Police did not provide a description of the suspect or if they fled on foot or in a vehicle.

The attempted robbery is under investigation.
