The suspect in Wednesday morning's murder in New Bedford's South End is now in custody, the Bristol County District Attorney's Office announced in a tweet this afternoon.

The tweet, which was posted at 2:15 p.m., reads, "Suspect in Wednesday New Bedford murder is in custody. Once formal criminal complaints issue, we'll be able to ID him/state charges publicly."

The suspect is expected to be charged with the shooting death of 20-year-old Jonas Trinidad, Jr. of New Bedford, after an argument Wednesday morning between the two near the intersection of Matthew and Bank Streets. The shooting took place around 11 a.m., with Trinidad being rushed to St. Luke's Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
