A large percentage of Americans don't think police departments hold their officers accountable if they step over the line.

A new Pew Research poll shows 36-percent of Americans think police departments turn a blind eye towards misconduct. That figure goes down to 27-percent among white people, but up to 70-percent among black people.

Black people also scored police poorly when it came to treating people of different races and ethnicities equally, using the right amount of force and respecting people's privacy. (Metro Networks Inc.)
