The seven members of the New Bedford Superintendent Search Committee met at the Keith Middle School Monday. The group introduced themselves to public and gave their thoughts on what qualities a candidate for superintendent should possess. Chairman Dana Mohler-Faria tells WBSM News, the diversity of ideas and backgrounds on the committee will be key in selecting the right candidate for New Bedford.

The committee includes four current and former New Bedford educators, retired Brockton Superintendent Matt George, and Josh Edelman of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. A national search firm is expected to begin helping the committee with finding candidates sometime in November.
