The grades are in for Supt. Pia Durkin. The New Bedford School Committee released its End-of-Cycle Summative Evaluation report for the superintendent Monday night.

Durkin received an overall rating of proficient by the committee members.

Dr. Lawrence Finnerty was in charge of putting the report together and says this new format is better than what they used to have...

Other committee members agreed that the new rating system is more fair and stream lined.

The evaluation score is based on three goals (professional preactice, student learning, district improvement) and four standards (instructional leadership, management and operations, family and community engagement, professional culture) and then an overall performance rating.

This form of evaluation can also be used for principals and teachers.

The report is available to the public upon request from the School Department.
