Taunton Police are investigating after a stun gun was used in a robbery Wednesday night.

Deen Jefferson tells Channel 12 News he was working at Pete's Mart at 370 County St around 9:15 p.m. when a man walked in with a stun gun, told Jefferson he was robbing the store.

“He was actually activating it so it had that electrical current,” said Jefferson “he said ‘I’m robbing you.’ I’m like, ‘are you serious?'”

The suspect then fled with cash taken from the register.

Although an official connection hasn't been made both Jordan and Fairhaven Police Sgt. Kevin Kobza says there are many similarities between this incident and other robberies in Fairhaven and New Bedford in which a stun gun was used.

“Same description of the weapon, same description of the suspect, same manner of behavior – pretty much the same M.O.,” said Kobza.

This is the fifth stun gun robbery this month.

Anyone with information on this incident is being asked to contact Taunton Police.
