Students Hand Over Video, Photos Of Pumpkin Chaos

The president of Keene State College says students are turning over video and photos of the mayhem that broke out during a family-friendly pumpkin festival over the weekend.

More than 80 people were arrested following the violent disturbances that led to property damage and dozens of injuries.

College President Anne Huot  told WMUR-TV that students are volunteering images to help identify the rioters.

Police say social media drew a large number of outsiders and contributed to the chaos. Police in riot gear used tear gas and pepper balls to control crowds as large as 2,000 people.

The college is working with the city to decide how to approach next year's festival.

Huot says students who rioted will be punished in a way that deters destructive behavior.
