FAIRHAVEN - The company looking to turn Fairhaven's former Oxford School into affordable housing has officially submitted their application.

The Town's Planning and Economic Development Director, Bill Roth, says the Stratford Group submitted the detailed application for the proposed senior housing complex this week.

Roth tells WBSM News over the next month, many Town departments and committees will be reviewing the lengthy application, and he encourages residents to take a peek at it as well. "It's a very large, complicated application. It is on the Board of Appeals website. There's a lot of different files. It's been separated out. We're just in the beginning stages," said Roth.

A public hearing on the application for 63 affordable housing units for seniors will be held on January 3.

The Stratford group is also seeking Community Preservation funds from the Town to help fund the project, which will be discussed along with eleven other proposals later in January.
