A state senator whose law office was raided by federal agents says he won't seek re-election.

Sen. Brian Joyce, a Milton Democrat, said on his Twitter account Tuesday that he would continue to work for the district but not seek another two-year term in November.

The announcement comes less than a week after FBI and IRS agents went to Joyce's Canton law office to conduct what an FBI spokeswoman called ``court authorized activity in connection with an ongoing federal investigation.''

The exact nature of the probe hasn't been revealed. Joyce's lawyer says the senator did nothing wrong.

Senate President Stan Rosenberg in a statement Tuesday wished Joyce well in the future, calling him a strong supporter of public education who took ``tough votes'' on other issues over the years.  {Associated Press)
