State Police Investigating Highway Accident Involving School Bus in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD - Three students were transported to St. Luke's Hospital this morning after an accident involving a car and a school bus.

Massachusetts State Police say the accident occurred near the Coggeshall Street exit on I-195 westbound just before 8 a.m. Thursday.

State Police say the accident was very minor in nature, and the students were taken to St. Luke's for evaluation as a precaution. There appeared to be no visible injuries.

It's not clear what company the bus was being operated by or where it was transporting the students.

No charges are being filed against either drivers at this time.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
