Star Wars nation thinks "The Force Awakens" is getting snubbed when it comes to Oscar nominations.

The seventh film in the saga did come away with five nods including original score -- but the others were for technical categories, like editing and visual effects.

Almost a month after its release, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the third highest-grossing film in history. It's taken in over one and a-quarter billion dollars worldwide.

The first "Star Wars" film received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture in 1978, but lost out to "Annie Hall."  (Metro Networks Inc.)
