Stabbing Suspect Arrested at St. Luke’s Hospital

New Bedford Police have arrested a man they say stabbed another male Saturday night.

Police say 32-year-old Scott Piva of New Bedford rode his bicycle up to a man sitting outside of a home on Thompson Street late Saturday night. The two men apparently got into a verbal argument, which turned into a physical fight.

Both the victim and Piva were treated at St. Luke's Hospital for injuries sustained during the fight.

Piva was arrested at the hospital and has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
