The Southcoast Hospitals Group and St. Luke's Emergency Associates announce that an agreement has been reached to transfer operations of medical services provided at the Emergency Department to another unnamed provider as of Jan. 16, 2013.

In a statement released by the Hospital group, both the hospital and the SLEA say they will work cooperatively on a seamless transition to provide the community with the highest level of care.

A spokesperson for Southcoast tells WBSM news there will be no comment from the hospital group or the emergency associates because of on going litigation. Southcoast intends to retain any provider in good standing who is currently working through SLEA at St. Luke's and is interested in pursuing employment there.
