Sox Bring Wren Into Fold

Just a day after the Boston Red Sox' president of baseball operations, Dave Dombrowski, announced that the team had promoted Mike Hazen to the role of general manager/senior vice president, it appears another move has been made.

Today, the Sox continued their tinkering of the front office as they added former Atlanta Braves general manager Frank Wren to the mix. According to a NESN report, it appears that Wren will fill the role of vice president of baseball operations for the team, which would slate him to work just under Dombrowski.

The move to add Wren is not that surprising as it's been speculated since Dombrowski took over. The two have worked together for multiple organizations in the past. Wren's last serious role in MLB was his six year stint as general manager of the Braves.
