Red noses were purchased by people across the country and across the SouthCoast Thursday in support of Red Nose Day, which seeks to raise money for children and young people living in poverty.

Community Connections Inc., was among the groups taking part, posing with their red noses for a group photo outside their Fairhaven office.

Amanda Dillon-Abrantes, a Case Manager with Community Connections Inc., says child poverty, especially for children who live with hunger, is something people need to be more aware of.

"Hopefully it will bring some kind of word to how much it really needs to be helped," says Dillon-Abrantes "there's alot of children that are hungry and not too many people know about it.
