Taking a walk in the woods? Be on the lookout for wildlife.

Coyote sightings are on the rise in the Southcoast, with some reports of the wild dogs attacking family pets.

Freetown Animal Control officer Lisa Podielsky says if you see a coyote, don't run, make some noise.

Podielsky says hunger and a fear of hunters is driving the coyotes to venture into settled areas.

She advises you to call your local animal control officer if a coyote presence persists in your area.
