A South Dartmouth man is arrested on several counts related to child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says 29-year-old Jack Bean, Jr. was charged Thursday in U.S. District Court with receipt and possession of child pornography.

In September of 2015, Bean was the target of a law enforcement investigation into an online bulletin board dedicated to the advertisement, distribution, and production of child porn with over 1,500 users. Bean was allegedly identified as a user on the bulletin board.

During a search of his home Thursday, Bean admitted to downloading child porn from the internet, and that he had a sexual preference for girls about 14 years old. Law enforcement agents found 40 pictures and 29 videos of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct on Bean's laptop.

Bean was ordered held pending a detention hearing on May 3.
