Sources: Missing Westport Man Charged in RI Stabbing

WARWICK, RI - Police say they've arrested a male suspect who walked into a Rite Aid store on Warwick Avenue Sunday and stabbed an 18 year old female clerk.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.

Police have confirmed that the suspect is the same 41-year-old Jacob Gallant who was reported missing Friday in Westport

Police say the stabbing appeared to be a random act. Two other employees held the suspect till police arrived. Gallant was taken to the hospital and is now in custody.

Police say the incident remains under investigation.
