A person familiar with the situation says the Golden State Warriors have been informed by free agent Dwight Howard that he won't be signing with them.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press on Friday because Howard has not announced his decision publicly. Howard met earlier this week with Golden State along with Houston, Atlanta, Dallas and his previous team, the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Bay Area News Group first reported Howard had informed the Warriors he wouldn't be signing with them.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban tweeted earlier Friday that it was "time to get back to work" amid multiple media reports that Dallas was out of the running for Howard. Cuban also wrote "the Mavs are back open for business."

ESPN is reporting that Howard has also told the Lakers and Mavericks that he is out. That only leaves the Houston Rockets as his options.
