Son of Sox Broadcaster, Jerry Remy, Held For Murder

Jared Remy, the 34-year-old son of former Red Sox player and current TV broadcaster Jerry Remy, was arraigned and ordered held without bail on a murder charge. 

His girlfriend, 27-year-old Jennifer Martel, was found stabbed to death on the patio of their Waltham apartment.

Remy had been arrested at the same apartment on Tuesday and charged with assault and battery, but he was released on his own recognizance Wednesday.  Middlesex County District Attorney says Marian Ryan defended that decision.

The couple's four-year-old daughter was not hurt and was placed in the custody of child welfare officials. (Associated Press)
