Perhaps one of the reasons why some are less inclined to believe in God or an afterlife, or miracles, for that matter, is they choose to think differently. There's been plenty of studies on this. Research finds religious belief is a result of intuitive thinking. Folks who don't buy into believing think more analytically. And analytical thinking can block intuitive thinking.

Take for instance the great story WFHN's Nancy Hall posted about a painting of Jesus on the cross at the 100 year-old St. John the Evangelist Church in Newport, R.I. There's a rust-colored stain under the feet of Jesus that wasn't there before. And any attempt to wash the stain away is futile. Is it a miracle or not? Some say yes and others scoff.

Our wonderful friend and spiritual healing medium, Maureen Hancock, is confronted by doubters and non-believers all the time. That said, she's also helped connect with loved ones who've passed on, giving the living a sense of peace and resolve.

As a kid, I witnessed an icon of the Virgin Mary weeping real tears in a Greek Orthodox Church in Hempstead, Long Island. Life Magazine had the tears analyzed and they were found to be human tear drops dripping from the icon. Some believe, and others don't. Just Google 'crying icons' and you'll see so many reports over the years. The Word Magazine, September 1994, talks about weeping icons at Our Lady of Cicero in Chicago,  sightings in Texas and Russia. But perhaps one of the most awe-inspiring weeping icons is that of the Archangel Michael crying a stream of tears in a tiny village church on the Island of Rhodes.
