The state of Massachusetts has gone $20 million over budget for snow removal this winter, with even more snow set to fall this weekend.

Fox 25 reports that the state has spent 65-million dollars for snow plowing and removal so far, but only budgeted 45-point-four-million for the entire winter. The cost for removing the snow left by the recent blizzard totaled $21.3 million, which led state Transportation Secretary Richard Davey to say that every inch of snow that falls costs Massachusetts a million dollars.

Right now forecasters are predicting that nine inches of snow could fall on Boston Saturday into Sunday. On the Southcoast, we can expect around three inches of snow to fall.
