The Southcoast finds itself bracing for another winter storm after the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for the region.

ABC Meterologist Chelsea Priest spoke with WBSM's Phil Paleologos Thursday morning and said that she believes that the rain the area experienced Wednesday and Thursday will turn to snow as the temperature drops.

"What's going to happen is this front that brought all the rain last night and is bringing kind of the fog and the mist and the scattered showers still today, it's going to stall just offshore," said Priest "moisture's going to continue to ride up along this front and what's going to happen is tonight temperatures are going start to drop and when we dip near freezing the rain is going to turn to snow."

Priest says this could lead to wet heavy snow that could cause problems for Friday morning commuters.

"The main concern for this one is the timing," said Priest "it looks like tomorrow morning's commute isn't going to be a great one we're going to see that switch over to heavy, wet snow and it's going to be coming down at a pretty good clip."

The storm is expected to bring roughly 3 to 5 inches of snow, but Priest says it's the type of snow we get that will be the real concern.

"It's not a whole lot of snow, but it is gonna be that heavy wet snow, and timing isn't going to be great," said Priest.

The Winter Storm Watch began at 1 a.m. Thursday and will be in effect until 3 p.m. Friday.
