Scientists with the UMass Dartmouth School of Marine Science and Technology have received a $1 million grant from the federal government to continue sea-scallop research projects.

The scientists will conduct surveys with underwater cameras to estimate scallop biomass, address bycatch reduction, and working with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute to develop a project to better understand scallop biology.

The funding is coming from NOAA and the New England Fishery Management Council.
