The National Weather Service states a broad band of snow currently situated across Connecticut and Northeast Massachusetts is heading southeast over the next few hours.

Therefore, residents of Southeastern Massachusetts, as well as Northern and Southern Rhode Island, should prepare for the possibility of slippery travel conditions over the next few days.

Thursday afternoon, a light snowfall may significantly reduce visibility down to a half mile or less, and this could result in slippery roads. Travel will likely be affected, although snow will have difficulty accumulating today.

Friday, wind chills will make temperatures feel like they have dropped to as low as -15°F.

Several periods of accumulating snowfall are possible over the weekend and into next Tuesday, with the heaviest snow falling on Sunday and Monday.
