Sign-Ups Available For September 11th Fort Phoenix 5K Road Race

The 16th Annual Fort Phoenix 5K Road Race will be held at 10 a.m., rain or shine, on Sunday, September 11, and there is still time to sign-up.

According to South Coast Today.com, the start and finish of the race course will be located at the DCR’s Fort Phoenix State Beach in Fairhaven.  Prior to race day, the entry fee is $15 and $20 to sign-up on the day of race. Entry-fees are non-refundable and checks should be made out to: Ft. Phoenix 5K Road Race and sent to Ft. Phoenix 5K, 100 Cedar Street, Fairhaven, MA 02719.

Cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50, will be awarded for the top three male and female finishers. There will be divisions awards to the top three male and female runners in each of the following age groups: Youth (12U); High School (13-18); Open (19-29); Sub-Master (30-39); Master (40-49); Senior (50-59); Veteran (60-69); and Grand Master (70-and-over).

A non-competitive walk will take place at the same time with the run. Proceeds from the event will benefit various charities and the community. T-shirts will be on sale and food and drinks will be available to all participants.
