Some New Bedford students were engaged in learning about alternative energy from experts in the field.

A team from Siemens Industry, one of the largest electrical engineering corporations in the world, spoke with students at the Swift School, Hayden-McFadden, and Sealab about wind turbines. Jerry Drummond with Siemens tells WBSM News through demonstration, the subject matter fit right into the classroom curriculum.

Drummond says Siemens is actively investing in New Bedford's children, in hopes some will become interested in the engineering aspect of turbines, as New Bedford is set to become the offshore turbine capital of the nation.
