Shoppers, Retailers Gear Up For Tax Free Weekend

The President of the New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce says retailers are looking foreward to the tax free weekend this Saturday and Sunday. 

Roy Nascimento says consumers are smiling because any purchases made this weekend will not include the state's 6.25% sales tax. 

Nascimento says area retailers will get a much needed boost as well....

Last year's tax free weekend cost the state about $23 million in sales tax revenue, but Nascimento says in the big picture, the tax free weekend is positive for businesses and consumers.
