New Bedford Police are investigating a shooting at a North End pharmacy.

The shooting took place early Sunday morning when a passenger in a vehicle fired a handgun in the direction of the Rite-Aid Pharmacy at Tarkiln Hill Road and Acushnet Avenue. Witnesses say the shots came from a gray or green Jeep Laredo with four people inside. They said they saw a person in the rear passenger seat wearing a white mask stick a gun out of the window and fire off at least one round.

The front door window of the Rite-Aid was shattered by what appeared to be a bullet hole, and police found a spent cartridge on the floor of the pharmacy.
