As the start of training camp nears, the New England Patriots have placed seven members of the team of the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Among those seven players are wide receivers Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola and running back Dion Lewis.

Edelman missed time due to a broken foot last season and then had surgery to fully repair the injury. Amendola dealt with knee and ankle injuries toward the second half of the year and also underwent off-season procedures. Lewis was lost for the season in Week 9 last year, after tearing his ACL.

All three look to be key parts of the team's offensive attack this season.

Along with the skill players, newly signed tight end Clay Harbor and three linemen, Sebastian Vollmer, Tre' Jackson and Shaq Mason, all will start camp on the PUP list.

All seven players will count against the 90-man camp roster and can return to practice at any time, prior to the season. If any player starts the season on the PUP list, he will not be eligible to play until Week 7 of the 2016 season.
