Seven people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in New Bedford's North End over the weekend.

The shooting occurred Saturday night about 7:30 at 95 Beetle Street.

According to Detective Sergent Dean Fredericks, the 55-year old victim was shot in the back when a bullet went through a window of his apartment.  He was taken to a Rhode Island hospital with non life threatening injuries.  His name is not being released at this time.

The shooter fled the scene with his accomplices and were arrested after breaking into an apartment at 9 Bentley Street.  Police also recovered three firearms during the arrest.

The seven arrested include six adults and one juvenile.  All are being held on high bail and will be arraigned in New Bedford District Court on tuesday.

Police also say the incident is gang related, but the victim was not the intended target.
