Despite reports of a medical marijuana company also being in talks with another town, Dartmouth officials aren't worried about losing the potential business.

On Monday night, the Dartmouth Select Board chose to support a future host agreement with the William Noyes Webster Foundation for a medical marijuana dispensary on Faunce Corner Rd. Officials say the group is also talking with Lakeville about a host agreement.

While Town Administrator David Cressman isn't sure whether the Lakeville talks will effect Dartmouth at all, he believes the town is too far away to change anything with the current deal on Faunce Corner. He said Dartmouth's real competition for a marijuana dispensary would most likely come from the likes of Fairhaven, New Bedford, or Fall River.

Select Board Chairman Stan Mickelson told WBSM News he respects the group's right to find a better deal, but believes there's more to choosing a site than the host agreement's dollar amounts. He said Dartmouth offers more business and a great location with easy highway access.

The details of a host agreement with the town is still being negotiated.
