Two people were hospitalized following a Monday morning fire in Seekonk.

Fire officials say the structure fire was reported at 7:11 a.m. at 11 Back St.

Flames were seen in the rear of the two story residence and the building was evacuated before fire crews arrived.

One resident was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for smoke inhalation and minor burns and they will remain overnight in the hospital for observation.

A firefighter was also transported to Rhode Island Hospital for heat exhaustion.

Mutual aid was provided by fire crews from Rehoboth, Barrington, Attleboro, and East Providence.

The fire was extinguished in less than an hour.

Officials say the cause of the fire is unknown and the incident remains under investigation.
