A second Canada goose has been found dead at Brooklawn Park in New Bedford.

Police responded to the duck pond at the park Saturday afternoon, and found a dead goose with a bag tied over it's head. Animal Control removed the bag, and saw that the goose had sustained an injury to the head. Police believe the animal may have been shot with a pellet gun, but no pellet or BB was recovered. The incident remains under investigation.

It's the second goose that has been killed in that area this month. On September 1, a goose was killed after being struck in the head with a rock. The killing appears to be intentional, and police tell WBSM News they are very close to wrapping up that investigation.

Police say it's tough to determine at this time if the separate geese killings are connected.
