Sears In Swansea Mall To Close Mid-April

Sears Holding Co. announced Thursday that the Sears store and auto center at the Swansea Mall will close by mid-April, according to a company press release.

According to The Herald News, a liquidation sale will begin on Friday, Jan. 6.

According to the announcement, Sears will close eight stores in early 2017. In 2016, Sears closed 200 stores as it struggles to compete.

Totaling at 103,000 square feet, Sears is the largest store and is one of two anchors at the mall.  The other anchor is Macy's.
