Police are searching for a man accused of stabbing his Plymouth neighbor to death.

WCVB.com reports that police in Plymouth County are looking for 24-year-old Tyler Hagmaier who they believe stabbed his 76-year-old neighbor 35 times on Thursday night.

Authorities say the victim found at 7 Tideview Path has been identified as Quincy College professor Vibeke Rasmussen.

Neighbors called police after hearing a woman screaming near Rasmussen's apartment. When authorities arrived to check on her, they found her dead.

Hagmaier's family in western Massachusetts was contacted and police went to that area to search for him. They found his vehicle, a silver Toyota Prius, parked alongside the French King Bridge in Gill.

Witnesses around the bridge say they heard a splash in the water around 10 p.m. on Thursday night.

Search teams were in the water both Friday and Saturday, but no body has been recovered.

The French King Bridge crosses the Connecticut River near Millers Falls, Gill, and Erving. Po.

Police say this murder was not a random act of violence and they ask anyone with information to contact authorities at 508-830-4218.
