Media reports indicate former Senator Scott Brown will not run in the special election to replace Senator John Kerry.

The Republican won a special election in 2010 to replace the late Senator Ted Kennedy, but he was defeated last November by Democrat Elizabeth Warren.

Two Democrats, Congressmen Ed Markey and Steven Lynch, have already announced their candidacy for their party's nomination.

Kerry will be sworn-in as secretary of state later this afternoon in a private ceremony at the State Department.   (Metro Source News)
