UPDATE (8:27 p.m.): New Bedford Police confirm to WBSM News that two people were shot. Both were taken to St. Luke's Hospital. According to police, the injuries were not serious, and the two victims could be released tonight. Police say detectives are on scene canvassing the neighborhood. They say more information will be released as it becomes available.

UPDATE (7:14 p.m.): New Bedford Police have confirmed the shooting to WBSM News. A spokeswoman said that more information will be provided when available.

NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police are reportedly in pursuit of a vehicle following a double shooting on Holly Street, near Belleville Avenue.

Scanner reports shortly after 6 p.m. indicated that a shooting had occurred, with at least one person grazed by a bullet in the abdominal area. A second person was said to have suffered unknown injuries.

ShotSpotter was reportedly activated and shell casings found.

Police were in pursuit of a vehicle believed to be involved.
